A Prayer for the Church

Given the current state of the Anglican Church, this prayer by Archbishop Laud (1573) is appropriate:

Gracious Father, we humbly beseech Thee for Thy Universal Church. Fill it with all truth, in all truth with all peace. Where it is corrupt, purge it; and where it is in error, direct it; where it is superstitious, rectify it; where anything is amiss, reform it; where it is right, strenghten and confirm it; where it is in want, furnish it; where it is divided and rent asunder, make up for the breeches thereof, O Thou holy One of Israel; for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Amen.
